Funmi is married to her sweetheart Dr John Olaniyi Bankole. Together they have raised three grown children.

 

She holds a bachelor of Medicine and Surgery from the University of Ibadan Nigeria, She is a Fellow of the West African College of Surgeons, an accomplished Public Heath Ophthalmologist and an alumnus of the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine.

 

She is a good manager of resources. She has held several leadership positions at the state and national levels in the health sector in Nigeria and is a recipient of several leadership awards in recognition for her contributions to health care industry.
